I just couldn’t resist that one!!
If you’ve been busy – we understand, but we miss you! Come back!
The ladies have been making awesome goodies and creating terrific quilted pieces.
See you Soon!!!
TIES THAT BIND
Dinner Meeting is Wednesday, June 15 @ 7:00 pm June 2011
BREAKING NEWS…MEETING SPOT FOR JUNE: Due to a conflict, our JUNE meeting will be held at Royce’s Fabrics on Main Street in West Bend. Wow, a fabric store for our convenience! Our meeting will start at 7pm... Come early to browse for goodies!
QUILT SHOW:
Vendor invites went out in mid-May. All of the lists have been updated and the next mailings will go out with your help in July. Thanks to Louanne and her magic copy machine fairy!
QUILT SHOW ENTRIES:
How are your entries coming along?? Some of the winners of the recent block of the month blocks are knocking out quilts like crazy!! It has really been exciting to see finished quilts at show and tell the last few months. Ladies, your talents are AMAZING!!
BROWN BAG EXCHANGE:
Even after a special email reminder, some of you forgot to bring your fat-quarter for the brown bag exchange. There will be no more waffling- especially as we will be at Royce’s on the 15th. If you forget to bring your fabric this month, you’ll have to BUY the stuff at Royce’s.
Start rifling through those magazines and books to find the perfect pattern/idea for your Christmas exchange!
PRESENTATIONS & WORKSHOPS:
Restitching Tradition- Jan Krueger and Linda Marcou are going to host their program on Wednesday, Sept. 21st at our normal meeting time.
Their workshop- Borders Too- will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24 (location as yet to be determined). If you’ve ever wondered what makes a quilt stand out – you’ll be interested in seeing how a border can become an integral part of your quilt for just a little more work.

FROM OUR FRIENDS @WI Museum of Quilts & Fiber Arts:
They are going gung-ho to the completion of construction. Their latest email shows great things happening to the facility in Cedarburg. There will be a fabric/crafts etc. rummage on June 17/18 – so if you’ve got something quilt/craft/fabric related to donate, please do so! Grand Opening on August 11. www.wiquiltmuseum.com
CHARITY QUILT SIZES:
The lap/wheelchair quilts should be at least 36 x 40 The Kathy Hospice is grateful for any quilts, just so they can be washed. They do not care if the batting is cotton, polyester or a blend. Make sure to label your quilts Ties That Bind 2011.
We are also considering getting together a “donated quilts display” for the quilt show…so start stitching!
**Orphan Block packages…3 quilts are DONE!
There were more put together, and all were taken at the May meeting. Thank you to those who donated the blocks, took the time to put them together, and the time and effort to sew them up.
VISITOR AND NEW MEMBER:
Welcome to Beth C, a friend of Helen and Eunice who decided that she likes our friendly group! Beth does all of her quilting by HAND!!
POPTOP COLLECTION:
Remember to save the pull tab part of your soda/pop cans for donation to the Ronald McDonald house!
ORPHAN BLOCK DONATION QUILTS:
The guild has purchased backing and batting to be used for donation quilts. $140 was spent for backing, batting, and four cute panels. If anyone has a top and needs batting, backing or binding, if you’re going to finish the quilt yourself, let Joan L or Colleen know, and you can get guild donated supplies!
SAD DAY:
Fons and Porter’s quilt shop in Iowa is closing- their online store, however, is still open.
